The University of Ibadan is the flagship public university in Nigeria and is the country's oldest institution of higher education. The university has approximately 12,000 students and besides a College of Medicine has faculties of Agriculture and Forestry, Arts, Education, Law, Pharmacy, Science, Social Sciences, Technology, and Veterinary Medicine. The College of Medicine is divided into four faculties; Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Dentistry, and Public Health, and their primary teaching facility is University College Hospital (UCH). The city of Ibadan, with a population of over one million residents making it the third largest city in Nigeria, is located in the southeastern part of Nigeria, approximately 85 miles from Lagos and 360 miles from Abuja, the federal capital. A visa is required for entry of U.S. citizens and residents into Nigeria.

Rotation Details:
Clinical rotations are available for fourth-year medical students and McGaw residents at University of Ibadan’s teaching hospital, University College Hospital (UCH) in Ob/Gyn, Infectious Disease, and Community Medicine. MPH students may also be eligible to work on public health projects in the Ibadan community to fulfill their field experience requirement. Residents are required to obtain a temporary medical license.
