SU/NU Global Health Knowledge Hub Conference Fosters Collaboration and International Partnerships

October 2026

44 researchers, faculty, students and staff from Stellenbosch University and more than 200 Northwestern University colleagues convened at the SU/NU Global Health Knowledge Hub Conference September 28-30. The conference strengthened and expanded collaboration across five core working groups: Primary Care Across the Lifespan; Biomedical Engineering; Health Professions Education; Infectious Disease and Genomics; and Climate, Health, and Environmental Engineering. It sparked new connections and concrete plans to support emerging scholars through new interdisciplinary partnerships, student and postgraduate engagement, and cross-institutional collaboration in new fields. University leaders opened each day, highlighting how closely Northwestern’s global and scientific priorities align with the Hub’s mission.
